HotTakes Child Safety Standards

Last updated: October 26, 2026

1. Our commitment

HotTakes is a social opinion app where people post questions, vote, comment, react, follow each other and join campus communities. These standards apply to the HotTakes app on every platform, including iOS and Android, and to the hottakes.live website. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation.

2. What is prohibited

HotTakes prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, anywhere on the service. This includes any HotTake, question, answer option, comment, reply, profile, username or profile photo. Prohibited conduct includes:

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Creating, sharing, requesting or linking to any sexual imagery or depiction of a minor, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material.

Sexualization of minors. Any content that sexualizes a child, including sexual comments about minors.

Grooming. Befriending or contacting a minor to build trust for the purpose of sexual contact or abuse.

Sextortion. Threatening or pressuring a minor to obtain sexual images, money or anything else.

Trafficking. Recruiting, advertising or facilitating the sexual exploitation or trafficking of a child.

3. How we enforce these standards

When we find or are told about content or behavior that violates these standards, we remove the content and ban the accounts involved. We preserve evidence as the law requires so it can be provided to the appropriate authorities.

4. How to report a concern

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement or emergency services right away.

In the app. Use the report option on the content or profile involved. You can also block the user.

By email. Contact our child safety point of contact at hello@hottakes.live. Include the username and a description of the content or behavior. Do not send or attach images of abuse.

To NCMEC. You can report child sexual exploitation directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children through the CyberTipline at https://report.cybertip.org/.

5. Legal compliance and reporting to authorities

HotTakes complies with applicable child safety laws. We report confirmed child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to other relevant authorities.

6. Child safety contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety is hello@hottakes.live. This contact can answer questions about our child safety practices and these standards.
